From the roof of Maker Church, there is a panoramic view of Cornwall. On a clear day, the Lizard stretches west, and to the east, Plymouth glints across the water as the Tamar meanders into the English Channel.

It’s a quiet Tuesday night, but the bird’s evening chorus is about to be joined by a sound that feels almost as ubiquitous to this landscape - the chiming of church bells. From the chair, we listen to John and Anita, who tell us about their small, eclectic community of those who ring the bells, what it takes to be a bellringer and why this simple activity means so much to them.
